PUWOKERTO – Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) marks a new historical milestone with the launch of the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang study programme. This decision, published in the Decree of the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia Number 983/E/O/2023 dated December 20, 2023, marks an important step in FIB Unsoed’s efforts to expand and enrich higher education curricula in Indonesia.
With the establishment of this permission, FIB Unsoed becomes one of the higher education institutions ready to accommodate students’ interests and talents in the field of Japanese language education. The Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang study programme will be the eighth study programme under FIB Unsoed and the third in the language education department.
The Dean of FIB Unsoed, Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu welcomed this announcement with great pleasure, stating, “We are very grateful for the support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia in granting permission to open the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang study programme. This step will provide new opportunities for students to develop a deep understanding of Japanese language and culture.”
This programme will provide students with the opportunity to understand linguistic and cultural aspects of Japan comprehensively. In addition, students will also be invited to develop communication skills in Japanese, providing a strong foundation for careers in the fields of education, culture, and international relations between Indonesia and Japan.
As part of the effort to improve educational quality, FIB Unsoed will involve experienced and competent lecturers in teaching the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang study programme. The carefully designed curriculum will cover various aspects of learning, including innovative teaching methods and relevant practical experience.
