(22/09/2021) Campus Teaching Programme 2 is a continuation of Campus Teaching Programme 1, where this programme is aimed at students in the field of education at Primary Schools both in rural and urban areas, which are currently experiencing very difficult conditions due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. This situation requires students to continue learning, but face-to-face learning with teachers cannot be conducted, and this is a challenge for the education sector going forward.
The Campus Teaching Programme 2 is related to the purpose of implementing Campus Freedom (Kampus Merdeka), namely to establish a relationship between the world of higher education and the real world or world of work. With the existence of Campus Teaching Programme 2, it is hoped that students can inspire their community environment and of course help Primary Schools so that they can continue to carry out their learning using technologies mastered by the students.
In detail, the objectives of implementing Campus Teaching Programme 2 are to maximize the student learning process online/offline, assist in technology adaptation in the learning process both offline/online, and help teachers in implementing learning from home or face-to-face learning at school, particularly in literacy and numeracy learning.
One of the locations for implementing Campus Teaching Programme 2 activities is located in Dusun Krapyak RT 2 RW 7 Lumbir, Lumbir District, Banyumas Regency. This school has adequate facilities for students to carry out the learning process. The facilities that this school has include adequate classrooms, prayer rooms, bathrooms, and others.
The total number of students at SDN 3 Lumbir experienced a decline in the 2021 academic year, from 77 students to 74 students. This is because SDN 3 Lumbir is located in a remote area, where its students come from only one village and there are also several other public schools whose distance is not far from SDN 3 Lumbir. The majority of all students at this school have a background of below-average economic conditions. However, this did not diminish the enthusiasm of SDN 3 Lumbir educators to continue their dedication in imparting knowledge to the students at SDN 3 Lumbir.
The learning process currently in effect at SDN 3 Lumbir school is an offline and online learning system. Offline learning is a learning model conducted outside the network. In other words, this learning is done face-to-face while paying attention to zoning and applicable health protocols. In this method, students will be taught in turns (shift model) with the aim of avoiding crowds. This offline learning model is recommended by the Ministry of Education and Culture to meet curriculum simplification during this pandemic emergency period. Additionally, this learning method is also considered quite good for those who lack or do not have infrastructure to support online systems. Offline learning activities at school are carried out for 2 hours of instruction, starting at 08.00 WIB – 10.00 WIB. The offline learning process is carried out with the aim of providing in-depth learning discussions especially for literacy and numeracy materials. Meanwhile, in the online or at-home learning process, students complete assignments given by the teacher during offline learning. The objective of implementing Campus Teaching Programme 2 is to empower students residing in areas around the school to assist teachers and school principals in implementing learning activities during the Covid-19 pandemic.
