Purwokerto, November 8, 2025 — As a concrete implementation of the cooperation between Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (FIB Unsoed) and Gramedia Gelora Indah Purwokerto, a Creative Talk event titled ‘Berteman dengan Luka Masa Kecil’ was held in the Aula Gedung Bambang Lelono, FIB Unsoed. This activity marks the initial step in a series of collaborations designed to strengthen the literacy ecosystem and the development of student creativity in the fields of writing and publishing.
The event featured two inspiring speakers, namely Mas Koko Ganteng, author of the book ‘Nak, Kamu Gapapa, Kan?’, and Tri Prasetyo, Editor-in-Chief of Penerbit Gradien Mediatama. Both shared their experiences regarding the creative process in writing and how emotional experiences in childhood can become a source of reflection and strength in creating works. With a light yet touching delivery style, both speakers invited participants to view past wounds and memories not as a burden, but as fuel to write honest and authentic works.
More than 200 FIB Unsoed students packed the hall and participated in the activity with great enthusiasm. The discussion was interactive, interspersed with Q&A sessions and the sharing of personal experiences from participants who felt connected to the raised theme. The warm and empathetic atmosphere made this activity not only a place to learn writing, but also a safe space to listen to and understand each other’s life experiences.
In his remarks, the Vice Dean for Student and Cooperation Affairs of FIB Unsoed conveyed that this activity is part of the faculty’s efforts to provide experiential learning that is relevant to students’ lives. ‘Through this activity, students learn that every life experience has meaning. When packaged in writing, it can become an inspiration and motivation for many people,’ he explained.
Meanwhile, a representative from Gramedia Gelora Indah Purwokerto emphasized that activities like this are part of Gramedia’s commitment to encouraging a culture of literacy and strengthening the relationship between the publishing world and the younger generation. Gramedia hopes this collaboration can open up new spaces for students to get closer to the publishing industry and foster a passion for writing among young academics.
This Creative Talk activity is proof that the synergy between FIB Unsoed and Gramedia Gelora Indah Purwokerto does not just stop at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), but is also realized in concrete programs that inspire, educate, and strengthen students’ spirit of literacy.
