Purwokerto, August 5, 2025 – In the spirit of welcoming the new academic year, the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang (PBJ) Study Programme, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (FIB Unsoed) demonstrated its commitment to designing strategic steps through a routine meeting held with great enthusiasm and in a warm atmosphere. The meeting, held in the study programme’s meeting room, was attended by all permanent lecturers, including Study Programme Coordinator Dr. Haryono, S.S., M.Pd., and PBJ lecturers such as Dian Bayu Firmansyah, Eko Kurniawan, Yudi Suryadi, as well as other lecturer colleagues. Starting at 09.00 WIB, this forum became more than just a formal meeting—it became a platform to unite visions, formulate actions, and spark innovation.
“This meeting is an important moment to unite our vision for the future, especially in welcoming the new academic year,” said Dr. Haryono, opening the discussion.
One of the main topics was the plan for study programme visits to schools in the Cilacap and Yogyakarta regions. This initiative aims not only to introduce PBJ Unsoed, but also to build strategic partnerships with schools that have an interest in Japanese language and culture.
“We want to expand our partnership network, especially with schools that show enthusiasm for Japanese language learning,” explained Dian Bayu Firmansyah.
This step is considered strategic for fostering interest among prospective students while strengthening the image of PBJ Unsoed as a study programme that actively reaches out to the community.
PBJ Unsoed is also preparing to bring in practitioner lecturers from the industrial and educational sectors, as a concrete form of synergy between the campus and the professional world. This program is designed to provide students with field perspectives, enrich the learning process, and prepare graduates who are adaptive and ready to compete.
“Students need to get a real picture of the professional world. The presence of practitioner lecturers will serve as a bridge that strengthens their readiness,” said Eko Kurniawan.
The subsequent discussion shifted to the technical preparations for the 2025/2026 academic year lectures. The distribution of courses, determination of course instructors, and curriculum evaluation were the main focuses to ensure that the entire teaching and learning process runs optimally from day one.
“We want to ensure that lectures run smoothly and with high quality from the very beginning of the semester,” asserted Yudi Suryadi, representing the PBJ Study Programme Quality Control Group (GKM) team.
The meeting, which concluded at 12.30 WIB, closed with a positive spirit and a full commitment to immediately realize the agreed agendas. “Hopefully, our cooperation today will bring a positive impact on the development of the study programme and the progress of our students,” concluded Dr. Haryono, closing the meeting. The routine meeting of PBJ FIB Unsoed is not just an administrative agenda, but has evolved into a strategic space for innovation and decision-making that directly impacts students, the study programme, and the future of higher education.
