Cilacap, January 30, 2025 – The Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) has formally established a collaborative partnership with the Dinas Kearsipan dan Perpustakaan (Arpus) of Cilacap Regency to strengthen the implementation of the Higher Education Tri Dharma (teaching, research, and community service). The signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the two parties took place during a ceremony on January 30, 2025, followed by a stakeholder discussion forum to discuss further implementation of this partnership.
This partnership encompasses various programs aimed at enhancing academic contributions to society and advancing knowledge development. The scope of activities agreed upon includes internship programs for FIB Unsoed students, community service initiatives involving faculty and students, and provision of publication platforms for academic works by faculty and students as a contribution to the broader community. Additionally, this partnership opens opportunities for developing joint research and studies in the fields of literacy and culture.
The Dean of the Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Prof. Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, M.Hum, stated that this collaboration represents a strategic step in supporting student and faculty involvement in knowledge development and community service. “We hope this collaboration will provide extensive benefits, not only for the academic world but also for society through broader access to various publications and research,” she said. Furthermore, she emphasized that this partnership will be one of the efforts to enhance the quality of graduates with direct field experience.
Meanwhile, representatives from the Cilacap Dinas Arpus welcomed this initiative and expressed hope that the programs designed can be implemented optimally. “We are very enthusiastic about collaborating with FIB in the various programs that have been agreed upon. With this partnership, we are confident that increasingly more quality academic works will be accessible to the public, and more students will gain practical experience in the fields of archives and literacy,” they stated.
This partnership is expected to yield positive impacts for both parties in implementing the Higher Education Tri Dharma and support the advancement of knowledge and public literacy. Through synergy between academia and the archival institution, access to knowledge and scientific publications is expected to become more open, thereby providing broader benefits to the education sector and the general public.
