Purwokerto, December 5, 2024 – Another remarkable achievement has been earned by students of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed). Yusa Shifa Hudoyo, a student of the S1 Sastra Inggris study programme at Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB), successfully won 3rd Place in the poetry category at the English Talent Competition held by Sastra Inggris at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ).
This prestigious competition, held in November, was participated by contestants from various renowned universities throughout Indonesia. Through her poetry work, Yusa captivated the judges with the power of her diction, depth of meaning, and emotionally engaged performance.
The Dean of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya at Unsoed, Prof. Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, S.S., M.Hum., expressed her pride in this achievement. “Yusa’s success is proof that Sastra Inggris students at Unsoed not only possess superior academic abilities, but are also creative and competitive in the arts. I hope this becomes inspiration for other students to continue creating and achieving,” she said.
Yusa herself expressed that the experience of participating in this competition was invaluable to her. “This was a big challenge for me, but also an opportunity to learn and develop myself. I am grateful to everyone who has supported me, especially the lecturers and friends at Sastra Inggris Unsoed,” said Yusa.
English Talent Competition is an annual event aimed at honing students’ English language abilities in various fields, such as poetry, debate, and public speaking. Yusa’s success in the poetry category is a special source of pride for Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Unsoed.
