Purwokerto, July 26-27, 2024 – The Laboratory for Learning Development Studies at Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (LAB BANGJAR FIB Unsoed) organized an innovative workshop titled “A.I. Use in Hybrid Learning Systems & Learning Tools in Merdeka Curriculum.” The workshop took place on July 26 and 27, 2024 at Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, Purwokerto. The workshop aimed to enhance the skills of English language teachers at Senior High School (SMA) level in Banyumas Regency in implementing English language instruction under the Merdeka curriculum framework. This activity resulted from a collaboration between the Laboratory for Learning Development Studies FIB Unsoed and the English Education Teacher Association (MGMP) of Banyumas Regency.
The workshop featured three prominent resource persons in the fields of educational technology and curriculum: Dani Arifudin, M.Kom, an information technology expert who discussed the use of A.I. in education; Cici Riyani, M.Pd., an education expert who reviewed learning tools in the Merdeka curriculum; and Rosa Faras T.I., S.Pd., an education practitioner who shared experiences in implementing hybrid learning in schools. The workshop participants were English language teachers at the SMA level in Banyumas Regency. The event was also attended by important officials, including the Dean of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs FIB Unsoed, and the Chair of the Senior High School English Teacher Association, Mr. Toto Sukartono.
The event was conducted with full support from the English Teacher Association (MGMP) of Banyumas Regency. The workshop was designed to provide new insights and practical skills to English language teachers, enabling them to integrate Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) technology in hybrid learning systems, enhance the effectiveness and interactivity of the teaching and learning process, and implement learning tools in accordance with the Merdeka curriculum. This workshop represents tangible evidence of FIB Unsoed’s commitment to supporting quality improvement in education through innovation and the use of the latest technology. We hope this activity will make a significant contribution in developing a more competent generation of successors prepared to face challenges in the future.
