Purwokerto, July 19, 2024 – The Sastra Inggris undergraduate programme at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) successfully organized a workshop titled “Building a Dynamic and Responsive English Literature Curriculum in Preparation for International Accreditation” on July 17-18, 2024. The event was held in the Meeting Room of UPT Perpustakaan Unsoed and was attended by various prominent figures from Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) Unsoed.
The workshop featured a keynote speaker, Dyah Setiowati Ciptaningrum, S.Pd., M.Ed., Ed.D., who provided in-depth insights on innovative and adaptive curriculum development strategies to meet international accreditation requirements. She discussed the importance of curriculum design that not only meets national standards but also can compete on the global stage.
Also present at the event was the Sastra Inggris Study Programme Coordinator, Dyah Raina Purwaningsih, S.S., M.Hum., who delivered warm remarks and emphasized the importance of collaboration among all faculty elements in preparation for international accreditation. The Dean of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, S.S., M.Hum., also delivered an inspirational speech regarding the vision and mission of FIB Unsoed in producing graduates who are excellent and competent in English literature.
Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Chusni Hadiati, S.S., M.Hum., and the Head of the Learning Development and Educational Quality Assurance Institute, Ir. Juni Sumarmono, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU, ASEAN.Eng., also attended and actively participated in the discussions held throughout the workshop. They provided additional perspectives on the importance of sustainable education quality and quality assurance in the curriculum development process.
Throughout the two-day workshop, the event served not only as a forum to exchange ideas and insights, but also as a platform to formulate concrete steps in the development of a more dynamic and responsive Sastra Inggris curriculum in response to the changing times. Workshop participants, consisting of lecturers and academic staff, actively participated in various discussion sessions and group activities.
With this workshop, it is hoped that the Sastra Inggris undergraduate programme at Unsoed will be increasingly prepared to face the international accreditation process and be able to create a curriculum aligned with industry needs and the advancement of knowledge. This is in line with Unsoed’s commitment to continuously improve the quality of education and produce graduates with high competitiveness at the global level.
