A lecturer from the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang study programme, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (PBJ Unsoed), Dian Bayu Firmansyah, S.Pd., M.Pd., conducted a visit to Japan to monitor the OSIP (Overseas Student Internship Program) internship programme. During this visit, the lecturer observed the progress and experiences of students undergoing internships at various locations in Japan.
From December 28, 2023 to January 11, 2024, the visit focused on students completing internships at Komeda Cafe, one of Japan’s leading cafe franchises. Two students from Sastra Jepang Unsoed, Salsabila Fauza Putri and Annisa Tri Rahmawati, were interning at the Komeda Cafe branch in Shizuoka. Meanwhile, five other students were completing internships at Komeda Cafe branches at several locations in Tokyo.
When met by their supervising lecturer, Salsabila and Annisa were enjoying their afternoon break at the Komeda Cafe branch at Lalaport, Saitama, Tokyo. Two of their colleagues, Teresa Selvinia Gunardi Tarra, Sinta Raya Nurita, Anggie Adewidia, Bunga Istni Mutiara Wardhani Ainur Rofiq Hidayat, were also in the restaurant, busy with their internship duties.
During the visit, Dian Bayu Firmansyah provided evaluation and listened to the experiences and challenges faced by students during their internships in the Japanese work environment. Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Unsoed continues to work on enhancing the quality of the OSIP internship programme, providing valuable experiences for students in applying the knowledge and skills they have acquired during their studies.
As part of the OSIP programme, two students were also interning in Aichi-ken, Don-Quijote Johoku, Nagoya. They are Rafi Adyatma and Muhammad Ilham Abdurrahman. Additionally, Nabilah Alya Zahiyyah was participating in an internship programme at Keiyo Country Club, Chiba.
This programme is expected not only to provide practical insights for students in an international work environment, but also to strengthen the relationship between Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Unsoed and industry partners in Japan.
