PURWOKERTO – The Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris study programme of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman held a Guest Lecturer Class activity with the theme “Entrepreneurship in Education, Language, and Literature Fields to Optimize Graduate Profile” on Tuesday, May 16, 2023. This activity is an annual event of PBI FIB Unsoed aimed at providing information about current conditions and future projections in leveraging entrepreneurial opportunities in the field of education.
The Guest Lecturer Class began with remarks from Dr. Memet Sudaryanto, M.Pd., as Coordinator of the PBI study programme at FIB Unsoed. He conveyed that the PBI study programme has opportunities to develop businesses in the fields of education, language, and literature as graduate achievements for students. Subsequently, the main activity was led by Dr. Chafit Ulya, M.Pd. from Universitas Sebelas Maret as the main speaker with material on “Literacy Entrepreneurship as a Career Choice for Students of the Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia Study Programme”. The activity continued with a question and answer session between the speaker and participants and concluded with a joint photo documentation.
The Guest Lecturer Class activity proceeded festively and smoothly. From this activity, it is clear that a student of education will not only become a teacher in the future, but could also become an entrepreneur who benefits the community. Therefore, this activity was held because it contained extensive discussions regarding information and tips about entrepreneurship in the field of education. The activity, attended by more than 100 participants through the Zoom Cloud Meeting platform, proceeded interactively with discussions and question and answer sessions.
