With the conclusion of the tenure of the Head of the Department of Language Education at Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, on January 11, 2023, held in the meeting room of Gedung B Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, lecturers in the Department of Language Education, consisting of the Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia and Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris study programmes, held a coordination meeting as well as the election of the department head and secretary for the period 2023–2027. Based on the vote, Etin Pujihastuti, S.S., M.Pd. was elected as department head and Tuti Purwati, S.S., M.Pd. as department secretary for the next period.
The lecturers expressed their gratitude to the previous department head and secretary and hope that under the new leadership, the Department of Language Education will continue to make improvements and enhance quality.
Meanwhile, welcoming the even semester that will begin in February 2023, lecturers in the Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris study programme held an internal meeting on January 12, 2023. Led by the Programme Coordinator who was re-elected for the period 2023–2027, Slamet Riyadi, S.S., M.Pd., the lecturers carried out a mapping of courses to be taught as well as the distribution of courses and schedules in the even semester of the academic year 2022/2023. Several changes were made by the Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris programme team, including the list of courses to be offered to fourth-semester students designed to prepare students for field practice, participating in the Kampus Mengajar and Teaching Assistance programmes in the following semester.
In addition to course mapping and distribution, on this occasion, the lecturers also held deliberations regarding the regeneration of teams and organizations within the scope of the Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris study programme.
With this internal meeting, it is hoped that each lecturer can better synergize and work towards enhancing the quality of the Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris study programme. (LMC)
