Outstanding achievements continue to be accomplished by students of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Unsoed on the international stage. Yudantia Sekar Jati and Vinesa Davina Azzahra, students of the Sastra Inggris programme at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, successfully won Gold Medal in two categories, namely Folklore and Mixed Youth, at the 10th International Brawijaya Choir Festival held in Malang on July 15-18, 2022.
This prestigious competition brought together choir teams from various countries, serving as a platform to demonstrate vocal abilities and appreciation for cultural arts. In the Folklore category, Yudantia and Vinesa presented captivating vocal harmony and an impressive appreciation of Nusantara culture. Meanwhile, in the Mixed Youth category, the two impressed the judges with extraordinary technical ability and profound interpretation of the songs they performed.
“We are very proud to bring the name of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman and Indonesia to the international stage,” said Yudantia. Meanwhile, Vinesa added, “This result would not have been possible without the full support of our coaches, family, friends, and of course the hard work we have put in.”
The International Brawijaya Choir Festival organized by Brawijaya University is known as one of the largest choir competitions in Asia, serving as a stage for talented singers from various parts of the world.
