(15/04/2022) Kampus merdeka is a program from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology that provides opportunities for students throughout Indonesia to study outside campus. Students are given the freedom to take credits outside their study program for a maximum of 3 semesters. The purpose of this program is to enhance graduate competencies, both soft skills and hard skills, so they are better prepared and relevant to contemporary needs, preparing graduates as future leaders of the nation who are excellent and of strong character. Various types of activities offered in this program include internships/practical work in industry, implementing community service projects in villages, teaching at educational institutions, student exchanges, conducting research, creating independent studies/projects, and participating in humanitarian projects.
The activity that caught my interest as a student at Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Unsoed is independent study. Independent study is a program aimed at providing students the opportunity to learn and develop themselves through activities outside the classroom, yet still recognized as part of coursework. For example, participating in training or online classes. This semester, I participated in the independent study program and chose PT. MariBelajar as my partner, which collaborates with Microsoft, and the track I selected is the Modern Educator Track. The Modern Educator Track is a program designed to prepare students from education-based study programs to become innovative educators capable of meeting diverse needs by incorporating technology in every teaching activity. Students will be able to understand various appropriate scenarios for educating the nation’s next generation, so they can compete with developing countries and even other developed nations.
This independent study activity was carried out for approximately 5 months from February 7, 2022 to June 24, 2022. We were given explanations about the program outline that we would implement, learning contracts, and what we needed to prepare to support the program’s success. We acquired many modules through this independent study, such as 21st Century Learning Design, Education Transformation Framework, Office 365 Teacher Academy, OneNote Teacher Academy, Microsoft Office Specialist: Word 2019, Microsoft Office Specialist: PowerPoint 2019, Microsoft Office Specialist: Excel 2019, Power Platform Fundamentals, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Fundamentals CRM, Microsoft Azure Fundamentals, Dynamic 365 Fundamental (ERP), Azure Data Fundamentals, and Azure AI Fundamentals.(KARJ)
