The Faculty of Humanities Journal Advisory and Development Team held a Mendeley training session that was opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, S.S., M.Hum. (Wednesday, 09/02/2022). This Mendeley training was conducted online and was attended by faculty and students of FIB, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. The event was attended by approximately 70 participants. In her opening remarks, she expressed great satisfaction with the organization of this training to support the quality of academic writing and promote publications by FIB faculty and students.
This training is one of the needs of FIB faculty and students for writing academic papers and establishing it as a storage system for academic references. This training activity is one of the needs of faculty and students in assisting their writing.
The resource person for this activity was Arfin Deri Listiandi, S.Pd., M.Pd. The Mendeley application training lasted approximately two hours, during which the resource person first presented an understanding of Mendeley itself, followed by a presentation of materials containing the benefits of Mendeley, and finally practical exercises in using Mendeley. Questions and problems experienced by participants were addressed by moderator Ambhita Dyaningrum, S.S., M.Hum.
This training received positive appreciation from participants as evidenced by the active question-and-answer session with many asking questions. They even requested a second stage Mendeley training conducted in person so they could understand it better. This was due to the limited time and the online format, so some participants faced difficulties. The organizing committee hopes that participants will be able to use this application to facilitate their writing process.
