Tim Pendamping dan Pengembangan Jurnal Fakultas Ilmu Budaya held training on turnitin utilization opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, S.S., M.Hum. (Thursday, 27/01/2021). This turnitin utilization training was conducted online and attended by lecturers and students of FIB, Unsoed. The event was attended by approximately 170 participants. In her remarks, she expressed great satisfaction with the organization of this event and hoped that everyone could participate to prevent plagiarism.
There were two speakers at this event: Dian Bayu Firmansyah, S.Pd., M.Pd. and Vera Krisnawati, S.S., M.Pd. In their explanation, they described the steps for creating a turnitin account and its use in checking plagiarism in web-based writing. By submitting writing to turnitin, one will obtain results showing what percentage of the writing has similarities with other writings available on the internet. This is the preventive measure in cases of plagiarism in written works.
During the event, all participants were able to directly try the turnitin application presented by the speakers and guided by several facilitators from Tim Pendamping dan Pengembangan Jurnal for the process of account creation and its usage. The participants were very enthusiastic in following the training until completion. (UH)
