Purwokerto – The Sastra Inggris undergraduate programme at Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) has conducted a Tracer Study for graduates from 2020. This activity aims to track alumni progress after completing their studies and evaluate the relevance of the education they received to the working world.
Tracer Study Results Of a total of 34 graduates, 32 alumni were successfully traced and participated in this tracer study. The results show that the majority of Sastra Inggris Unsoed graduates possess outstanding quality with an average GPA of 3.32. As many as 94% of graduates obtained employment within less than 3 months after graduation, demonstrating high absorption in the job market.
Alumni Activities The alumni are distributed across various employment levels, with 31% working at the multinational level, 31% at the national level, and 38% at the local level. The majority of alumni stated that their work is highly aligned with the field of study they pursued, with an alignment rate reaching 91%.
Graduate User Satisfaction Assessment of alumni competencies shows very good results. The aspects evaluated include ethics, expertise in the field of study, foreign language proficiency, information technology use, communication skills, teamwork, and personal development. The majority of alumni were rated “Very Good” in various aspects, with the highest percentage in foreign language proficiency.
Suggestions and Recommendations Based on the tracer study results, several suggestions provided include:
- Curriculum Development: Curriculum development is needed to better align with current job market demands.
- Internship Programme: The importance of internship programmes to provide direct experience in the working world and build portfolios.
- Enhancement of Digital Skills: Add courses related to digital technology and personal branding.
Conclusion This Tracer Study activity has successfully provided a clear picture of the situation and conditions of Sastra Inggris Unsoed alumni after completing their studies. The results demonstrate that graduates possess very good quality and are ready to compete in the world of work. The suggestions and recommendations provided are expected to serve as a basis for improvements and development of the study programme in the future.
