Purwokerto, 28 September 2024 – The D3 Bahasa Mandarin Study Programme, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed), held the Expo dan Hong Festival 2024, hosted at the Hall of the Bambang Lelono Building, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB). The event was attended by the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ir. Noor Farid, M.Si; the Vice Rector for Student Affairs, Dr. Norman Arie Prayogo, S.Pi., M.Si., and the Head of LPPM Unsoed, along with other officials. The event was officially opened by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs.
This event was part of a series of activities under the Vocational Competitive Fund grant provided by the Directorate General of Vocational Education, aimed at supporting the development of diploma programme students’ skills and creativity. Various flagship products from D3 study programmes across Unsoed were showcased, including booklets, videos, books, aquaculture products such as ornamental fish and shrimp, as well as food products made from fish-based raw materials.
The Competitive Fund programme covers three main areas: improving governance and partnerships; enhancing the quality and innovation of learning through Teaching Factory initiatives and flagship products; and facilitating student participation in the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) programme. With these three main areas of focus, the Competitive Fund Programme at the D3 Bahasa Mandarin Study Programme of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman is committed to realizing excellent vocational education. Graduates are expected not only to be ready to compete in the workforce but also to make real contributions across various industrial sectors, both domestically and internationally.
In his remarks, the Vice Rector for Student Affairs commended the implementation of this event. He stated that the activity greatly supports student creativity and opens opportunities for them to grow professionally. The expo served as a platform for students to showcase their work while preparing them to enter an increasingly competitive job market.
As a closing session, the event featured a walk-in interview attended by D3 Bahasa Mandarin alumni, providing them with a direct opportunity to enter the workforce.
