The Department of English Language and Literature, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Unsoed, held the international seminar The 5th Colalite: International Conference on Language, Linguistics, and Literature. This seminar is held regularly once every two years.
The seminar, held in hybrid format at Meotel Purwokerto and via Zoom meeting, took place on 4-5 August 2023. This international seminar featured five outstanding keynote speakers, namely Dr. Lynda Susana Widya A. F., S.S., M.Hum. from Universitas Jenderal Soedirman; Dr. Luis Damián Moreno Garcia from Hong Kong Baptist University; Prof. Marianna Boero from the University of Teramo (Italy); Ketaki Deshpande, Ph.D.; and Dr. Adnane Derbani from Morocco. The seminar participants came from various regions in Indonesia as well as abroad, consisting of lecturers, students, and researchers.
This event is expected to foster an academic and publication culture among lecturers and students of the Department of English Language and Literature in particular, and the general public at large. The two-day seminar consisted of several sessions that can broadly be grouped into plenary and parallel sessions. In the plenary session, participants listened to presentations from the keynote speakers, followed by discussion. In the parallel session, participants were divided into small rooms to present the articles they had prepared, followed by discussion.
It is hoped that the benefits of this event can be felt by academics at FIB Unsoed in particular and the wider community in general, in support of academic culture and publication.
