Purwokerto, 9 May 2025 – The Sastra Inggris Undergraduate Study Programme of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB), Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed), conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) activity for the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) Internship Program on Friday, 9 May 2025, at PT Telkom Indonesia, Witel Purwokerto Office. Three students took part in the Monev: Hasna Nur Afifah, Kimi Habibie, and Khairunnisa Nisriinaa Ariij. This Monev is an important part of the evaluation process for the internship program, which runs for four months, from 3 March to 3 July 2025.
Students undertaking the internship program at PT Telkom Indonesia were placed at two locations, namely the Telkom Witel Purwokerto Office and Plaza Telkom Purwokerto. Kimi Habibie carried out the internship and joined the SSGS Team under the mentorship of Wirasatya Pratama, Customer Care Officer of PT. Telkom Indonesia. Kimi carried out tasks within the SSGS Team, which is a combination of three divisions, namely the Finance Division, Human Resource Department (HRD), and General Affairs.

Two other students who had the opportunity to take part in the internship at Plaza Telkom were Hasna Nur Afifah and Khairunnisa Nisriinaa Ariij. Their main tasks were to handle customers both online through Telkom’s WhatsApp Business and offline customers who came directly to Plaza Telkom. Plaza Telkom is a part of PT Telkom that serves priority clients, such as government institutions, educational institutions, state-owned enterprises (BUMN), and private companies. Hasna and Nisa carried out their duties under the guidance of Puspo Santi, Account Manager of PT Telkom Indonesia.

The Monev activity was guided by Dyah Raina Purwaningsih, S.S., M.Hum, Field Supervising Lecturer as well as Coordinator of the Sastra Inggris Undergraduate Study Programme at FIB Unsoed. She posed several questions regarding the implementation of the students’ work programs. According to Wirasatya Pratama, during the internship, the students demonstrated a strong work ethic. Furthermore, Puspo Santi said that the students showed professional attitudes, a high enthusiasm for learning, and good adaptability. “The students interning here grasped the material quite quickly, and they were also responsive in handling complaints from priority clients who tend to be more critical,” said Puspo Santi. She also added that the intern students had followed priority service standards and were monitored every week to ensure that service quality was maintained.
Since the beginning of the internship, students have prepared a Term of Reference (TOR) and work programs, recorded daily activities through a logbook, and compiled reports and submitted internship output products as a form of academic accountability. The students revealed that the experience gained during the internship was very valuable because they could learn directly from a real work environment. They were able to apply the communication skills they had learned during their coursework, such as public speaking, business correspondence, and rhetoric for business communication.
Through this Monev, the campus and industry partners can ensure that the MBKM internship program truly benefits students. With real work experience and direct learning from professionals, students are expected to be better prepared and more confident in facing the world of work.
