Purwokerto, October 18, 2025 — Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (FIB Unsoed) through the Sastra Inggris Study Programme organized a training activity entitled “AI Training: Upskilling Program Melalui Pemanfaatan Artificial Intelligence (AI)” in collaboration with Remote Skills Academy (RSA). This activity is part of the AI Opportunity Funding: Asia Pacific programme organized by AVPN and supported by Google.org and the Asian Development Bank (ADB). The event was held offline on Saturday, October 18, 2025. It took place at the 5th Floor Hall of the IAB Unsoed Ballroom from 09:00 to 17:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
This training is part of the effort by Sastra Inggris Unsoed to enhance students’ digital competencies so they are better prepared to face the challenges of the technological era. The focus of the activity is directed towards the creative, productive, and ethical utilization of artificial intelligence (Artificial Intelligence/AI) in the academic and creative industries.

The event featured a number of professional mentors from Remote Skills Academy, namely Chalsie Janny, Ivan Hadwin, and Tasha Fitri Amalia, as well as Ingrid Janice Nola Gajah as the Project Manager at RSA who acted as the coach. The mentors shared knowledge and experience regarding trends in AI utilization in the workplace and education, and guided participants to directly try various AI applications in academic activities, research, and creative projects.
Students involved in this activity received maximum facilities and benefits, including official training certificates, access to selected online classes from Remote Skills Academy, connections to job and business opportunities, and networking with practitioners and business actors in the technology field.
For Sastra Inggris students, this training has strategic value as it opens up new insights into how AI can be used to support writing skills, literature research, translation, and digital-based creative content development. By mastering the basics of AI, students are expected to be able to increase their marketability and competitiveness in the creative industry, which now increasingly relies on intelligent technology.

In her remarks, the Dean of FIB Unsoed, Prof. Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, M.Hum., expressed her appreciation for this activity. Both for the Sastra Inggris Study Programme and for RSA, this activity brings a very positive impact to the students and the academic community of FIB UNSOED. Additionally, the Head of the Sastra Inggris Study Programme of FIB UNSOED stated that, “This activity is Fun-Tastic, engaging, and very beneficial for the students. Through this training, students not only learn to understand technology, but also how to utilize it to support their studies and future careers,” she said.
Testimonials from one of the training participants also provided a positive impression of the activity. “The training was useful and interactive. We got to know how AI can help in creative work such as writing and translating. This really increases our marketability as Sastra Inggris students in the digital era,” expressed one of the participants. This activity introduced the latest AI products that support learning activities and provided material on good prompt writing that can produce maximum AI and human collaboration and ease work.
With the realization of this training, Sastra Inggris FIB Unsoed hopes to continue being a pioneer in the development of digital humanities competence, bridging cultural literacy and technology, and preparing graduates who are adaptive and innovative amid global changes.
