Purwokerto – Another impressive achievement has been accomplished by students of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed). Muhammad Mayzal Darvesh, a student of the Sastra Inggris Study Programme at the Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) of Unsoed, successfully won 3rd Place in the Male Category English Speech Competition at the Central Java Youth Festival 2024. The event was held in December 2024 and was attended by talented young people from all districts/cities across Central Java.
In the competition, Mayzal impressed the judges with his speech. With excellent command of English, he was able to deliver inspiring ideas about the importance of youth in creating a sustainable future. Additionally, his confidence and distinctive delivery style became important factors that led him to the podium.
“This is an extraordinary experience for me. I feel honored to bring good name to FIB Unsoed at the provincial level. I also hope to continue developing my abilities to compete at higher levels,” said Mayzal enthusiastically.
Dean of the Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, expressed her appreciation for Mayzal’s achievement. “This achievement is concrete evidence that FIB Unsoed students have great potential to compete and excel in various fields. We are very proud of the hard work and dedication demonstrated by Mayzal. We hope his success will be an inspiration to other students,” she said.
The Central Java Youth Festival is an annual event aimed at exploring the potential of Central Java youth in various fields, such as arts, sports, literacy, and public speaking skills. This year, the event was held with great enthusiasm with various competitions and seminars attended by inspiring figures.
