[fib.unsoed, Wed, 17/01/24] Outstanding achievement has been accomplished once again by students from Fakultas Ilmu Budaya. This time, two FIB students, namely Khairunnisa (Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, 2021) and Hidayat Nur Wahid (Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia, 2020) along with their team successfully won a gold medal at the IYMIA (International Young Moslem Inventor Award) 2024 competition.
IYMIA is a competition in the field of applied sciences, organized by the Indonesian Young Scientist Association (IYSA). The categories competed in IYMIA 2024 include social science, life science, engineering, environmental science, and innovation science. This year, a total of 341 teams from 14 countries (Indonesia, Romania, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Mexico, United Arab Emirates, Iran, Uzbekistan, India, South Africa, and Singapore) participated in this online competition.
The Unsoed team participated in the social science category. Khairunnisa stated that the team wanted to explore the pentahelix concept through Tari Lengger as a medium for introducing mina padi (rice-fish farming). Therefore, they submitted a work titled Application of the Pentahelix Model Using Lengger Dance as a Media for Developing Agricultural Potential Based on Local Wisdom of Mina Padi in Banyumas.
The success of these two FIB students is expected to motivate many other students to continue actively participating in competitions, both at the national and international levels.
