PURWOKERTO—Inclusive education is a response to global community concerns regarding the slow development of education in developing countries. In response to this phenomenon, the Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia Study Programme of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman presents the “Expert Lecture on Inclusion #Series 2” with the theme “Managing Student Inclusivity to Realize Language Learning Outcomes.” This activity is a routine initiative of the Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia Study Programme, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Unsoed, aimed at developing and improving inclusive education management, which is greatly needed, particularly for students and graduates of Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia. The activity was conducted online via Zoom Meet on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.
The Expert Lecture on Inclusion Series 2 began with remarks from Dr. Memet Sudaryanto, M.Pd., as Coordinator of the Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia Study Programme at Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Unsoed. Subsequently, the activity was officially opened by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Chusni Hadiati, M.Hum. She welcomed this initiative and expressed hope for the continuity of inclusivity activities as a foundation of skills to realize competent graduate outcomes.
The main activity was led by Donny Prakosha, M.Pd., a Special Education Lecturer at Universitas Sebelas Maret, as the primary speaker, presenting on “Managing Student Inclusivity to Realize Language Learning Outcomes.” The activity continued with a question and answer session between the speaker and participants, and concluded with group documentation photos.
During this Expert Lecture on Inclusion, participants engaged actively and with great enthusiasm. From this activity, we could understand the principles of inclusive education, exemplary practices of inclusive education, as well as models of adaptation and learning accommodation in inclusive classrooms. The activity, attended by more than 100 participants through the Zoom Cloud Meeting platform, proceeded interactively with discussion and question-and-answer sessions.
