PURWOKERTO – The Sastra Inggris Study Programme, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman held a 2022 guest lecturer class featuring Senior Journalist from Channel NewsAsia (CNA), Olivia Marzuki. The event, held on Saturday, September 24, 2022, was conducted online via zoom meeting and was attended by Sastra Inggris students from the 2020, 2021, and 2022 cohorts.
The speaker for this event, Olivia Marzuki, shared her experience in the field of journalism and provided tips for students pursuing careers in journalism. Also present at the event were Dean of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Dra. Roch Widjatini, M.Si., Head of the Department of English Language and Literature, Mia Fitria Agustina, S.S., M.A., Coordinator of the Sastra Inggris Study Programme, Tri Murniati, Ph.D., as well as the Sastra Inggris faculty members.
This activity was organized in support of one of the courses offered in the Sastra Inggris programme, namely English for News Anchor. Through this guest lecturer class, it is hoped that students will gain broader knowledge about the field of journalism and also gain an understanding of career opportunities for Sastra Inggris graduates.
