PURWOKERTO – The Social Community Department of Himpunan Mahasiswa Sastra Inggris (HMSI) at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman has organized an English Learning Fun (ELF) teaching activity. This activity consisted of 2 waves where the first wave of ELF was conducted online from May 16-21, and ELF volume 2 was conducted in-person on June 30, 2022. ELF is an English language teaching activity by Sastra Inggris students from Universitas Jenderal Soedirman for students from elementary through high school levels.
This activity was carried out in stages both in-person and online to reach more students from both Purwokerto and throughout Indonesia. We collaborated with Oemah Sinau, a community that provides free tutoring in Purwokerto. We successfully gathered 60 students from elementary through high school levels.
The material taught was a basic understanding of English that students may not have yet acquired in their schools. Through this activity, it is hoped that knowledge can continue to be gained from anywhere and in any way, including through the implementation of this year’s ELF activity.
