On Wednesday (8/6/2022) at 09.00, the Indonesian Senator Award B-52 Ceremony in the field of Literature was held at the Aula Gedung Bambang Lelono, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. This award ceremony is an honor given by the DPD RI represented by Dr. Abdul Kholik, S.H., M.Si. to institutions and individuals who are deemed competent in their respective field of expertise. On this occasion, the award was presented to a renowned writer from Banyumas, Ahmad Tohari. In addition, Ahmad Tohari also delivered a Cultural Oration at this event.
Present at this event were representatives from the Banyumas Regent, rectors of universities in Purwokerto, the Vice Rector of Unsoed for Student Affairs and Alumni, deans at Unsoed, the director of postgraduate programs, and heads of institutions at Unsoed. Several faculty members and students also attended the award ceremony and cultural oration.
Cultural activists from the Banyumas region also attended to enliven the event which took place from 09.00 to 12.00 WIB.
The event began with remarks from the Dean of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Dra. Roch Widjatini, M.Si, followed by remarks and testimony from the Rector delivered by the Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Alumni, Dr. Kuat Puji Prayitno, S.H., M.Hum. A representative from the Banyumas Regent, Ir. Didi Rudwianto, also gave remarks. After that came the award ceremony presented by the DPD RI to Ahmad Tohari and the Cultural Oration. In addition to the award and cultural oration, the event featured entertainment from FIB Unsoed students who performed tari srinthil edan (a traditional Banyumas dance) and karawitan (traditional gamelan music). Before the event concluded, Banyumas Regent Achmad Husein and Binziad Kadafi, S.H., LL.M., Ph.D from the Komisi Yudisial RI also gave testimony regarding this award ceremony.
“I congratulate and wish success for the holding of the Indonesian Senator Award B-52 in the field of Literature. I hope that with this event we can inspire and multiply the interest of the younger generation in pursuing and studying the field of literature, so that this field can become a field to be proud of,” said the Banyumas Regent.
