Purwokerto – Serving as a bridge connecting an educational institution with its alumni, the Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris study programme held the “Bakti Alumni” event to strengthen relations between alumni and active students, creating strong synergy and a broad impact on society. In this event, the head of the Alumni Relations Team, Ibu Novita Pri Andini, S.Pd., M.Pd., invited one of the best alumni from the Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Study Programme FIB UNSOED, Muchibbuddin Waly, S.Pd., M.Pd., affectionately known as mas Muchib, to speak at the Bakti Alumni event held on 30 August 2025 with the theme “Tips for Successfully Securing Master’s Scholarships and Graduating on Time”. Mas Muchib is an alumnus of the Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Study Programme FIB UNSOED, Class of 2017, who graduated on time with a multitude of achievements as an outstanding student at the faculty level, head of a student organisation, active in Pondok pesantren (Islamic boarding school), and involved in various other activities before continuing his studies at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta through the LPDP scholarship programme, and has now graduated with a Master’s degree in Education.
During this Bakti Alumni session, mas Muchib shared his experiences participating in various academic and non-academic activities while still managing to graduate on time and achieve Summa Cum Laude honours with a 4.00 GPA. Despite his busy schedule, mas Muchib revealed his tips for securing a Master’s scholarship from LPDP. With great enthusiasm, mas Muchib provided detailed explanations ranging from application procedures and document preparation to the timeline required to obtain the scholarship.
The event, moderated by an agile and energetic Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris FIB UNSOED lecturer, ibu Laxmi Cakrawati, S.Pd., M.Pd., was attended not only by Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris lecturers and alumni, but also by active students from all year groups looking to gain insights from mas Muchib, who became an LPDP Awardee and earned his Master’s Degree in English Language Education on time with a perfect grade. Furthermore, this activity is expected to strengthen the bond of friendship among lecturers, alumni, and students to share and contribute positively to the wider community. Hopefully, hosting this Bakti Alumni event provides opportunities for alumni and students to continue taking active roles and developing themselves at the local, national, and international levels.
