[fib.unsoed.ac.id/, Monday, June 13, 2022] On Saturday, June 4, 2022, two delegates from the S1 Sastra Jepang Study Programme, namely Riyanda Daniati Putri NIM J1C018058 and Boyke Anugerah Wiranata NIM J1C020019, accompanied by one of the programme’s highly experienced lecturers Dian Bayu Firmansyah, M.Pd, participated in the National University-level Speech Contest Competition, organized by Himpunan Mahasiswa Bahasa Jepang (Himabaja), Department of Japanese Language Education, Faculty of Language and Literature Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. This Japanese Speech Contest Competition was part of the 15th Japanzuki Show event with the theme “Yume wo mezase, Aratana Suteppu wo Arukidasou”, which also held other Japanese language contests as well as non-Japanese language contests.
In the online Speech Contest Competition, Boyke and Riyanda eliminated numerous competitors from various universities across Indonesia, who were certainly very talented and possessed proficient Japanese language abilities. In this competition, there were 3 (three) judges with backgrounds as Japanese language lecturers at UPI (Nuria sensei and Dewi sensei) and 1 (one) professional in the healthcare field from Japan (Yuka sensei).
After a very fierce competition, the judges determined that both Unsoed delegates became champions of the 15th Speech Contest, with Boyke achieving 1st place and Riyanda earning 3rd place. This is a national-level achievement that is very prestigious for the Sastra Jepang programme at Unsoed and also for Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Unsoed. The announcement of winners was held one week after the competition, on Saturday, June 11, 2022.
As stated by the Coordinator of the S1 Sastra Jepang programme at FIB, Hartati, M.Hum, this is the second time, because in the previous event at Universitas Pancasila, Riyanda also won the Speech Contest Competition in 2020, so this is Riyanda’s second national-level achievement. As for Boyke, this is his first participation in a Speech Contest Competition and he immediately achieved this prestigious result.
Hopefully this success will motivate both of them to work even harder, and it is hoped that in the future both students can achieve even higher accomplishments. Ganbatte kudasai.
