Curriculum Workshop for Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Study Programme

(Monday, February 17, 2020) The S1 Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Study Programme is always striving to provide excellent academic services to students and stakeholders as future users for alumni who have graduated. Therefore, the curriculum used in the S1 Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Study Programme must be continuously updated in line with contemporary developments. With a spirit of adaptation to keep pace with the times, the S1 Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Study Programme held a curriculum workshop on Friday, February 14, 2020. The event began at 08.00 WIB with an opening address delivered by the Dean of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, followed by a presentation on the Pendidikan Bahasa programme, specifically regarding the curriculum presented by Ibu Tuti Purwati, S.Pd., M.Pd. The event, held in the Meeting Room on the 1st Floor of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, was attended by Bapak Paulus Kuswandono, Ph.D, Chair of the Association of Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Study Programmes throughout Indonesia from Universitas Sanata Dharma, Yogyakarta. In addition, Bapak M. Ahsanu, M.A, a doctoral candidate, also provided various inputs and innovations related to curriculum concepts oriented toward the future and, of course, toward student competencies. The event was also attended by several stakeholders from LIA, SMP N 4 Purwokerto, SMA N 1 Purwokerto, SMA N 2 Purwokerto, and SMK N 2 Purwokerto. Several alumni and students also attended the workshop to provide input for curriculum improvements in the S1 Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Study Programme at Unsoed. With guidance provided by experts, lecturers, stakeholders, and alumni, they were able to provide positive input for the development of the S1 Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris Study Programme curriculum to be more adaptive to contemporary developments while also remaining oriented toward the individual capabilities of students. It is hoped that the well-conceived curriculum will produce qualified and skilled graduates, particularly in the field of English language teaching.
