Purwokerto, May 18, 2024. The D3 Chinese Language Study Programme sent a student representative to participate in the “CHINESE BRIDGE 2024” provincial-level Chinese language competition. This event was held at Sekolah 3 Bahasa Putera Harapan, Purwokerto. The student representative from the D3 Chinese Language Study Programme at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman was Kristo Lukito, a student from the 2022 cohort. The Coordinator of the D3 Chinese Language Study Programme, Destyanisa Tazkiyah, B.Ed., M.S, stated, “This competition serves as an opportunity for students to practice and test their Chinese language abilities that have been learned in their coursework. Additionally, participating in a competition is beneficial for developing student confidence to perform in front of the public. The hope is that by participating in this competition, students can achieve the best possible results.”
The competition categories that Kristo participated in included speech, answering questions, Chinese art and cultural performance, and a written examination. The “CHINESE BRIDGE 2024” Chinese language competition (汉语桥比赛) is not only a test of Chinese language proficiency, but also of mastery of Chinese knowledge, art, and culture.
Kristo chose Taijiquan as his Chinese art and cultural performance. After participating in the competition, Kristo expressed relief at having completed the competition and expressed his desire to work even harder for future opportunities.
