The D3 Bahasa Mandarin Study Programme in collaboration with Himpunan Penerjemah Indonesia Komisariat Daerah Jawa Tengah, presents “National Translator Certification Test Preparation Training HPI.
The training programme was held at the Universitas Dian Nuswantoro campus, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Semarang, on 8-9 June 2024. This activity was part of the 2024 Competitive Vocational Grant Programme series. The resource person for this training was Adinda N.V. Hutabarat, Ph.D, a diplomat from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs who has extensive experience in the field of translation. This activity aimed to prepare participants to take the national translator certification examination and is expected to produce competent and professional translators. Over the course of 2 days, participants learned how to improve translation competence through mastery of translation techniques and language skills. Guided by the resource person, participants completed exercises translating Mandarin texts into Indonesian. This aimed to provide understanding of various types of examination questions such as general texts, specialized texts, and socio-economic field texts.
The preparation training for the National Certification Test (TSN) for translation by HPI is expected to enhance the competence and professionalism of translators, while also supporting the improvement of translation industry standards at the national level.
