Purwokerto, October 27, 2024 – A student from the D3 Mandarin Language Study Programme at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman has once again achieved outstanding recognition. At the Unsoed 2024 Japan Festival held on October 27, 2024, Peppy Niquita, a third-year D3 Mandarin Language student from the class of 2023, successfully won the title of “Best Female Coswalk Competition.”
The Unsoed Japan Festival is an annual event organized by the Sastra Jepang Student Association at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman. The event features various engaging activities such as cosplay competitions, Japanese food bazaars, art performances, and various other competitions with Japanese cultural themes. The Coswalk competition is one of the main attractions involving high creativity, acting techniques, and the ability to walk and embody the character being portrayed.
Peppy, a third-semester D3 Mandarin Language student, delivered an impressive performance with her costume and character portrayal. With thorough preparation and confident stage presence, she managed to capture the attention of the judges and audience. In a brief interview, she expressed her gratitude and joy over the achievement. “I am very happy to bring this award home. This is an incredible experience, and I am grateful for the support from my friends and lecturers who have always encouraged me,” she said.
The Coordinator of the D3 Mandarin Language Study Programme, Destyanisa Tazkiyah, also expressed appreciation for Peppy’s accomplishment. “This achievement demonstrates that our students excel not only academically but also have the ability to succeed in other fields, including arts and culture. We are very proud and fully support our students’ potential to continue developing,” she stated.
This success serves as motivation for other students to continue developing their talents and interests, both in academic and non-academic fields. Hopefully, more achievements will be garnered by Universitas Jenderal Soedirman students in the future.
