Purwokerto, August 7, 2024 – The D3 Bahasa Mandarin Study Programme team, meeting in Ruang Rapat Gedung Sri Wahyuti, jointly conducted a coordination meeting to prepare for the Odd Semester of Academic Year 2024/2025. The meeting was attended by all lecturers and academic staff with the main agenda of evaluating lectures from the previous semester and updating the Rencana Pembelajaran Semester (RPS) for courses.
Lecture Evaluation
The first agenda item in this meeting was the evaluation of lectures conducted in the even semester 2023/2024. This evaluation included an assessment of teaching methods, student achievement, and the effectiveness of learning media usage. Based on the evaluation results, there are several important points that need to be addressed:
- Increased Interaction Between Lecturers and Students: Lecturers need to be more active in interacting with students, both through direct face-to-face meetings and online media. More intensive interaction is expected to enhance students’ understanding of the taught material.
- Use of Technology in Learning: The utilization of technology in the learning process needs to be enhanced. More optimal use of the Learning Management System (LMS) will help students access course materials and assignments more easily and in a structured manner.
- Competency-Based Assessment: Student assessment needs to place more emphasis on achieving competencies in accordance with learning outcomes. Assessment should not be based solely on written exams, but also through projects, presentations, and active participation in class discussions.
Update of Rencana Pembelajaran Semester (RPS)
The next agenda item was updating the Rencana Pembelajaran Semester (RPS) for courses to be taught in the odd semester 2024/2025. This RPS update encompasses several aspects, including:
- Revision of Learning Materials: Learning materials are adapted to the latest developments in their respective fields of knowledge. Lecturers are expected to update the references and learning sources used.
- Integration of Active Learning Methods: More interactive and participatory learning methods are integrated into the RPS. This aims to increase student engagement in the teaching and learning process.
- Compilation of Course Schedules: Course schedules are arranged considering lecturer availability and student needs. Flexible scheduling is expected to facilitate a more effective learning process.
- Development of Performance-Based Assessment: Assessment designed in the RPS will place greater emphasis on evaluating student performance. Projects, practicum sessions, and application-based tasks will be important parts of the assessment.
The coordination meeting concluded with the compilation of a timeline for implementing the RPS update and preparing for lectures. It is hoped that all lecturers and academic staff can work together to ensure the successful preparation for the odd semester 2024/2025.
With thorough preparation and mutual commitment, the quality of education at our institution is expected to continue improving, and we will be able to produce graduates who are competent and ready to compete in the job market.
