Monday, November 25, 2024, the Sastra Jepang Study Programme at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman conducted an Internal Audit of Academic Quality (AIMA) in the study programme’s meeting room. The activity was attended by Dr. Trisnowati Budi Ambarnigrum, M.Si., as Auditor 1, Dr. dr. Susiana Candarwati, Sp KO, Subsp. APK(K), as Auditor 2, and Idah Hamidah, S.S., M.A., as Coordinator of the Sastra Jepang Study Programme, together with programme members. This audit served as an important opportunity to evaluate academic achievements while identifying areas requiring improvement.
In its implementation, the auditors noted several achievements worthy of appreciation. One of them is the study programme’s success in developing Learning Outcomes (CPL) for 2021 and continuing to develop curriculum based on Outcome-Based Education (OBE) for 2025. This new curriculum is designed with additional strengths in the form of mastery of Japanese language at JLPT N3 level and Japanese corporate culture competence, which distinguishes the programme. The development of CPL involved various parties, including academic associations and industry, thus ensuring relevance to workforce needs.
Furthermore, the study programme has demonstrated its commitment to encouraging students to participate in scientific publications and seminars at national and international levels. This success is supported by the availability of platforms that facilitate student academic activities. In terms of learning, the programme has met requirements such as implementing learning according to the 1 SKS weighting equivalent to 45 hours per semester, as well as developing learning plans communicated to students at the beginning of lectures. This effort provides a strong foundation for students to achieve academic success.
To optimize the results of this evaluation, a number of recommendations were presented by the audit team. The study programme is expected to improve mechanisms for monitoring and evaluating students by completing required supporting documents. Alumni data also needs to be integrated digitally to increase tracer study response rates, so that a clearer picture of graduate achievement can be obtained. Additionally, students need greater support to enhance their non-academic achievements. The OBE-based curriculum being developed is also expected to be aligned with industry competency standards and global market needs.
This audit is a strategic step in improving the academic quality of the Sastra Jepang Study Programme at Unsoed. By implementing improvements based on existing findings and recommendations, the study programme is expected to be able to produce graduates who are not only academically competent, but also possess skills and competitiveness relevant to the workplace.
