[fib.unsoed.ac.id/, Friday, 19/08/2022] Friday – Sunday, 12 – 14 August 2022 Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Unsoed held the PKKMB (Introduction to Campus Life for New Students) event for the Academic Year 2022/2023. This activity serves as a means to introduce and prepare new students in the transition process to becoming mature and independent students, as well as to accelerate the process of student adaptation to the new environment by providing them with the foundation for success in their higher education studies.
PKKMB also served as a venue for implementing the Independent Learning Campus Independence Policy (MBKM), as well as raising awareness of the importance of understanding globalization and the industrial revolution 4.0, where students are expected to become alumni of higher education institutions who possess depth of knowledge, moral excellence, love for their country, and global competitiveness. The implementation of this activity followed the 2022 PKKMB Guidelines from the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs, Directorate General of Higher Education, Research and Technology.
The theme adopted by Fakultas Ilmu Budaya for this year’s PKKMB was “MADILOGDAYA, Students in Dialectic, Logic, and Culture”. This PKKMB was conducted offline at the FIB Unsoed campus. The PKKMB event began with a New Student Reception Ceremony held at Gedung Bambang Lelono FIB. Acting as the Ceremony Inspector and welcoming the new FIB students was Dean of FIB Dra. Roch Widjatini, M.Si. Opening the PKKMB event was Vice Dean for Student Affairs and Alumni Idah Hamidah, S.S., M.Hum.
The opening of PKKMB was also enriched with performances by the Laras Budaya Gamelan Group led by Rosyid Dodiyanto, S.S., M.Hum and comprising lecturers, staff, and students of Unsoed, comedy performances by Guyonan Bawor and Petruk, and traditional dances characteristic of Banyumas.
In her report, committee chair Nisa Roiyasa S.Pd., M.Tesol. stated that the PKKMB participants for the academic year 2022/2023 consisted of 496 new students of FIB comprising 74 new students from Sastra Inggris programme, 83 new students from Sastra Indonesia programme, 74 new students from Sastra Jepang programme, 81 new students from Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia programme, 89 new students from Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris programme, 63 new students from D3 Bahasa Inggris programme, and 32 new students from D3 Bahasa Mandarin programme. The 2022 FIB PKKMB included materials on introduction to campus life covering both academic and non-academic aspects, including introduction to all FIB leaders, introduction to study programmes and programme lecturers and course registration; materials on the scientific information center and laboratories at FIB; and introduction and performances by all student organizations at FIB.
