Purwokerto, November 8, 2025 — Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) has officially established a partnership with Gramedia Gelora Indah Purwokerto. The agreement was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) which took place in the Aula Gedung Bambang Lelono, FIB Unsoed.
Gramedia is a company that plays a major role in improving the literacy of the Indonesian people through various business initiatives and corporate social responsibility (CSR) programs. Its main role includes providing access to quality reading materials through the largest bookstore network in Indonesia, publishing millions of copies of books, as well as developing the Gramedia Digital platform which makes it easier for people to read anytime and anywhere. Gramedia is also active in organizing activities such as book reviews, author meet-and-greets, and writing competitions to strengthen interaction between readers and writers.
In addition, Gramedia actively collaborates with educational institutions to expand the company’s contribution to education. With this commitment, Gramedia is not only a book sales center, but also an important pillar in building a sustainable literacy ecosystem in Indonesia. This commitment is realized by establishing a partnership with FIB Unsoed. The event was attended by the Vice Dean for Student, Alumni, and Cooperation Affairs of FIB Unsoed, the Study Programme Coordinators, and the Manager of Gramedia Gelora Indah Purwokerto. The atmosphere of the activity was warm and full of collaborative spirit, reflecting the determination of both parties to build synergy between the academic world and the creative industry, particularly in the fields of literacy and the development of a reading culture. In his remarks, the Vice Dean for Student, Alumni, and Cooperation Affairs, Kuntarto, S.Ag.,M.Pd.I, stated that this collaboration is part of the faculty’s strategic efforts to expand its partner network and open up opportunities for students to learn directly from the industrial world. “We hope this cooperation can provide real benefits for students, especially in honing their literacy, creativity, and communication skills. Gramedia is the right partner to build literacy synergy within the campus environment,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Manager of Gramedia Gelora Indah Purwokerto expressed appreciation for this cooperative initiative. According to him, collaboration between Gramedia and educational institutions like FIB Unsoed is an important step to strengthen the national literacy ecosystem. “We want students to get closer to the publishing world, understand the creative process behind books, and play an active role in advancing the reading culture in Indonesia,” he expressed. This cooperation covers various forms of activities, including creative writing training, literacy seminars, internship programs for students, as well as opportunities for publishing scientific and literary works produced by the academic community of FIB Unsoed.
Through these activities, students are expected to not only gain theoretical knowledge but also practical experience that enriches their insights and competencies in the fields of language and literature. Through this collaboration, FIB Unsoed reaffirms its commitment to continue innovating in education and community service. The faculty strives to produce graduates who are not only academically excellent but also possess a creative, adaptive spirit, and are sensitive to the developments of the ever-evolving creative industry.
