FIB Unsoed Language Month Festival Successfully Held with Diverse Exciting Competitions

Purwokerto, July 8, 2023 – Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (FIB Unsoed) successfully held the Festival Bulan Bahasa, which took place festively with various competition categories featuring themes of art, literature, and Indonesian culture. This activity served as a platform for students to showcase their creativity while strengthening cultural values within the framework of language and art.

Chairperson of the organizing committee, Dr. Siti Junawaroh, stated that the festival aims to increase appreciation for local culture and enrich students’ literacy perspectives. “This festival is a moment to explore student potential while fostering their love for Indonesian cultural traditions,” she said.

Various competitions were featured in the festival, including:

1. Traditional music performance competition, showcasing student creativity in preserving traditional instruments and regional songs.
2. Poetry musicalization, combining the beauty of literature with musical harmony.
3. Pantun competition, as a form of preserving the traditional pantun (poetic form) art of the archipelago.
4. Drama performance, presenting meaningful stories through theater productions.
5. Poetry writing, serving as a space for exploring creativity in composing words.
6. Literary scientific paper, which critically examines various literary issues.
7. Linguistics scientific paper, exploring linguistic phenomena in society.
8. Cultural scientific paper, exploring traditions and customs from a scientific perspective.

After undergoing a rigorous selection process by a competent jury panel in their respective fields, the winner announcement was held on July 8, 2023. The winners received recognition in the form of trophies, certificates, and attractive prizes as a token of appreciation for their hard work and creativity.

The FIB Unsoed Festival Bulan Bahasa is expected to become an annual agenda that continues to develop, providing positive impact not only for students but also for the wider community in protecting and preserving the nation’s cultural heritage.
