Purwokerto, 17 November 2025 — The D3 Bahasa Inggris Study Programme of the Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) Universitas Jenderal Soedirman successfully organized a Guest Lecture themed “Integrating AI-Powered Learning to Prepare Industry-Ready English Professionals” on Monday, 17 November 2025, held at the Aula Bambang Lelono FIB UNSOED starting at 08.00 WIB.
This event featured keynote speaker Wazir Ali, M.A., M.Ed., M.Phil., an academic and English education practitioner known for his active involvement in developing artificial intelligence (AI)-based learning models. In his presentation, Wazir Ali provided comprehensive insights into how AI technology can be integrated into language learning to enhance the professional skills required by today’s industry.
The event was opened by the Dekan Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Prof. Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, S.S., M.Hum., who emphasized that digital transformation requires human resources who are adaptive, tech-savvy, and possess global communication competencies. “AI integration is not just a trend, but a necessity to prepare graduates who are ready to compete in the international workforce,” she stated.
In addition, welcoming remarks were also delivered by Kristianto Setiawan, S.S., M.A., as the Koordinator Program Studi D3 Bahasa Inggris UNSOED, who expressed that this guest lecture is part of the study programme’s commitment to delivering education that is relevant to industry needs. “We want students to understand that technology is an important partner in developing their competence as English language professionals,” he explained.
Throughout the event, participants consisting of D3 Bahasa Inggris FIB UNSOED students gained interactive learning experiences through discussions, case studies, and examples of AI application in developing English language skills suitable for the professional world.
With the successful implementation of this event, D3 Bahasa Inggris FIB UNSOED further reinforces its role as a vocational study programme that is responsive to technological developments and industry needs, and remains committed to preparing outstanding, competent, and job-ready graduates.
