A guest lecturer activity for students of the Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia study programme was held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 in an online format through Virtual Meeting Link: s.id/PBI_EkoTriono. This activity featured an exceptional speaker, Eko Triono, S.Pd., M.Pd. He is a practitioner who has produced dozens of books and whose writings have been widely published in various media outlets. The guest lecturer class was moderated by announcer Uki Hares Yulianti, S.Pd., M.Pd. and opened by the Programme Head of Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia, Mrs. Etin Pujihastuti, S.S., M.Pd. The activity was also facilitated by Dr. Memet Sudaryanto, S.Pd., M.Pd., making it an engaging event to attend. This guest lecturer activity aims to develop and enhance the quality of the study programme. The benefits of this guest lecturer activity are numerous, one of which is improving graduate quality, and assisting faculty in enhancing the quality of learning so that both can improve in line with the vision and mission of the Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia programme.
The guest lecturer class titled “Learning and Creative Writing in Literature” was attended by students from the Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia programme and other programmes at FIB, Unsoed. Participants were visibly enthusiastic, with many posing questions to the speaker. The speaker answered the questions in an engaging manner and also provided motivation to students to actively begin writing and expressing their ideas and thoughts.
Given the importance and numerous benefits that can be gained by faculty, students, and the Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia study programme from guest lecturer activities, the Pendidikan Bahasa Indonesia programme deems it necessary to conduct guest lecturer activities on a continuous basis.
