Purwokerto – The Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Study Programme, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (FIB Unsoed) held dissemination and collaboration activities with SMK Negeri 1 Cilacap and SMA Negeri 3 Cilacap on Wednesday, August 26, 2025. This activity aimed to strengthen institutional relations while supporting the implementation of student teaching assistance.
The promotion and collaboration team delegation from the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Study Programme FIB Unsoed departed from campus at 08.00 WIB. The team was led by Dr. Haryono, S.S., M.Pd., and accompanied by several lecturers, including Ulul Huda, S.Pd.I., M.Ap., Eko Kurniawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., Angiva Stovia, S.Pd., M.Pd., Firda Zahratul Fuadah, S.Pd., M.Pd., and Exwan Andriyan Verrysaputro, S.Pd., M.Pd.
The first visit was made to SMA Negeri 3 Cilacap. The team was welcomed directly by Mrs. Rokhanah, S.Pd., as a representative of the school. In her remarks, she stated, “We welcome this collaboration, as it can provide benefits both for Unsoed students and for the students of SMA Negeri 3 Cilacap.”
Not only at SMA Negeri 3 Cilacap, the team also paid a visit to SMK Negeri 1 Cilacap. The school warmly welcomed the team’s arrival. Present on that occasion were Mrs. Siti Mulyani, S.Pd., and the Vice Principal for Public Relations. During the meeting, the school expressed its support. “This collaboration can serve as a forum for our students to become better acquainted with Japanese language and culture, while also broadening their horizons regarding the academic world in higher education,” said Siti Mulyani.
Discussions and the initiation of collaboration proceeded intensively. Both parties discussed opportunities for collaboration, ranging from student teaching practice and teaching assistance to the higher education tridharma (three pillars of higher education: education, research, and community service). Responding to this, Dr. Haryono stated, “We hope this collaboration can run sustainably so that it makes a tangible contribution to the world of education, both in schools and higher education institutions.”
In addition to signing the collaboration agreement, the lecturer team from the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Study Programme also conducted direct classroom dissemination activities. This activity aimed to further introduce the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Study Programme FIB Unsoed to the students.
On that occasion, the lecturers offered motivation so that students would study harder and not hesitate to continue their studies at the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Study Programme Unsoed. “Don’t be afraid to dream. Learning Japanese is not just about the language, but also opens doors to the international world,” said Ulul Huda.
The dissemination activity proceeded with great enthusiasm. Many students asked questions regarding career prospects for graduates of Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang. Responding to this, Eko Kurniawan explained, “Our graduates can become educators, translators, researchers, and even work in Japanese companies. The opportunities are wide open.”
In closing, the event featured a demonstration of Japanese learning media developed by Yudi Suryadi, S.Pd., M.Pd., an expert in the field of learning media development. This demonstration further enhanced the students’ interest in the study programme.
Through this dissemination and collaboration, both the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Study Programme FIB Unsoed and the schools hope to establish a close and mutually beneficial relationship. The collaboration is expected to enrich students’ learning experiences while supporting the implementation of the higher education tridharma.
