PURWOKERTO – On Thursday, April 14, 2022, J-Lalite: Journal of English Studies, a journal managed by the Sastra Inggris study programme, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman, held a mentoring session for submission to DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journal). This mentoring session invited Faizal S.S., M.Hum., who is the Editor in Chief of Register Journal, as a resource speaker. Although this event was specifically intended for J-Lalite, journal partners from other study programmes at FIB such as Iswara journal, LEAD journal, J-Litera, Prawara, Vokasia journal, and Lingua Idea journal also participated in this event.
The activity began with a presentation on the importance of DOAJ and matters to be considered for DOAJ registration. On this occasion, Faizal also emphasized that DOAJ is evidence that a journal is managed in a healthy manner, so with the implementation of this mentoring, it is expected to provide much information for journal partners at FIB to prepare themselves for DOAJ registration.
After the presentation by the resource speaker, the J-Lalite Team also discussed with Faizal regarding the preparations that had been made and the next steps that needed to be anticipated after registering with DOAJ. In practice, J-Lalite was guided in detail to fill out the form as a requirement for DOAJ registration until it was finally submitted. This event ran very efficiently and certainly provided many benefits for the development of J-Lalite and also journals at FIB in general.
