Kopsus Guren – Ngopi Beken, Nongki Keren

The Student Entrepreneurship Program is one of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman’s initiatives to foster and develop students’ entrepreneurial talents and interests from an early stage. Student interest in PMW has been quite enthusiastic, as evidenced by the high level of participation in the program. PMW itself consists of several stages: proposal writing, selection and proposal presentation, after which only a few groups advance to the University-level PMW. Those who do not pass at the university level move on to Faculty-level selection, and if they pass, they receive funding from their respective faculty.

In the Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris study programme at Unsoed, the PMW program is facilitated by the English Entrepreneurship course. Each PMW group in the Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris programme consists of 3-4 students who submit proposals and participate in PMW activities. Our group consists of: Daffa Aditya Rusmanto (Chair), Abi Qodri Romadhon (Treasurer), and Yuda Prasetyo Purnomo (Marketing).

In the first stage, we created a proposal for an entrepreneurial business we wanted to submit to pass the University-level PMW selection. Since we already operate a coffee shop business, we decided to create a proposal specifically about bottled aren sugar coffee milk. We named our product “BMD KOPSUS GUREN BOTTLE.” BMD KOPSUS GUREN BOTTLE is a combination of authentic selected espresso coffee bean extraction with milk, creamer, and aren sugar, packaged in a sterilized 500 ml bottle with attractive design. We then submitted our proposal for selection at the University level. While waiting for the announcement in our Language Entrepreneurship course, we gave a presentation before the course instructor.

Our proposal passed the first selection stage at the university level. The first selection stage was conducted via Zoom presentation. However, our product did not pass at the University level. Nevertheless, we did pass at the Faculty level. Our product was successfully approved and funded by the faculty to proceed. The faculty provided funding of Rp. 2,500,000 divided into 2 stages. The first stage provided 75%, or approximately Rp 1,750,000, as initial capital to operate our business, covering equipment and materials purchases. The second stage provided 25%, or approximately Rp 750,000, with the requirement that students submit detailed financial reports showing how the 75% allocation was used.

On November 30, 2021, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya held an entrepreneurship EXPO featuring 24 teams selected by the PMW evaluation committee. The PMW EXPO event carried the theme “Young in Innovation, Young in Creation: Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Entrepreneurs Create an Extraordinary Generation.” The event was attended by the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, the Vice Dean for General and Financial Affairs, and the Vice Dean for Student Affairs. At the end of the event, prizes were awarded to the top 3 teams: the most innovative team, the most creative team, and the most prospective team. During the event, all teams were required to market their products to both students and faculty members present. We were very enthusiastic and optimistic that our team would be among the top 3. We are very grateful that by the end of the EXPO, our team “BMD KOPSUS GUREN BOTTLE” received recognition as the most prospective team at the FIB PMW EXPO. To this day, we continue to actively promote our product on our Instagram page @kedai.bmg. (AQR)
