Purwokerto, May 5, 2025 – In an effort to improve learning quality and students’ experience in the workplace, the S1 Sastra Inggris Study Programme of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman has implemented an internship program under Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM). One of the internship activities is monitoring and evaluation (monev) of the program. The MBKM internship monev aims to monitor the implementation of student programs at various industry partners.
One of the monev activities conducted by the S1 Sastra Inggris Study Programme took place at Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI) Purwokerto, which was successfully held on Monday, May 5, 2025. This monev activity was guided by Eka Dyah Puspita Sari, S.Pd., M.Hum. as the Field Supervisor (DPL) from the S1 Sastra Inggris study programme to assess students’ competency development in broadcasting and journalism.
Four (4) students participated in this internship monev activity: Uliyanti Mayhani, Alvira Putri Niktiwahyu Pratama, Marcellia Eki Christine, and Esti Utami Puspitaningrum. The monev activity included discussion sessions between students and RRI Purwokerto staff, where various aspects such as communication skills, content production capabilities, and professional ethics were discussed in depth. In addition, students were given the opportunity to present their work during the internship, which included news reporting, radio broadcast production, and social media content management. The field supervisor expressed appreciation for the students’ enthusiasm and dedication in acquiring knowledge and adapting to the professional work environment. This internship activity served not only as an academic learning opportunity, but also provided real experience in the broadcasting industry.
RRI Purwokerto also welcomed this monitoring and evaluation activity as an effort to improve the effectiveness of the internship program in the future. RRI management is committed to continuing to provide internship experiences that are educational and relevant to developments in the broadcasting industry. RRI Purwokerto also expressed satisfaction with the students’ performance during their internship activities. RRI assessed that this internship program made a positive contribution to both parties.
With the implementation of this monitoring and evaluation activity, students are expected to gain broader insights into the workplace and be able to apply the knowledge they have acquired in practical settings. The MBKM internship program is expected to continue serving as a bridge between academic education and industry, producing graduates who are ready to face professional challenges in the future.
