Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Jenderal Soedirman held an event titled “Socialization on the Acceleration of Lektor, Lektor Kepala, and Guru Besar Positions” on Wednesday (11/01/2023). The socialization event, held in the auditorium of Gedung Bambang Lelono FIB, featured Prof. Dr.rer.nat Imam Widhiono as the resource person.
During the socialization event that took place from 10:00 to 13:00 WIB, Prof. Imam provided motivation and strategies for FIB Unsoed lecturers to promptly submit their applications for functional position promotions. “Currently, there are still many lecturers who have not moved on to the new paradigm, sleeping soundly in old habits, and thinking that passing BKD is what matters. We must change this mindset,” said Prof. Imam. In addition to providing motivation and strategies for lecturers to more quickly apply for functional position promotions, Prof. Imam also opened a discussion and question-and-answer session for FIB lecturers. Several lecturers appeared enthusiastic and motivated to promptly submit their applications for functional position promotions. Prof. Imam also recommended that FIB promptly establish a team to accelerate functional position promotions so that FIB lecturers can soon achieve the highest functional position, namely guru besar.
To achieve the desired functional position targets, each lecturer must meet the cumulative points or score for each functional position. These points are obtained from the tridharma perguruan tinggi (three pillars of higher education), namely teaching, research, and community service. “Most lecturers struggle with publication because they struggle with writing. We must help those lecturers to be able to write and publish their work in reputable journals,” added Prof. Imam. The hope is that after this socialization, FIB lecturers can soon prepare the necessary documents to promote their current functional positions.
