[fib.unsoed, 27/11/23] The experience of visiting and learning about 10 countries in a single day was successfully presented by students from the Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris study programme, Class of 2022.
On Monday, 27 November 2023, held in the auditorium of Gedung Bambang Lelono, the students organized an International Day event with the theme Cultural Harmony, A Worldwide Melody.
The International Day event, held for the second time, was the final output of the Cross Cultural Understanding course project for the third semester. Through this event, students were expected to learn about and then introduce diverse cultures from various countries to visitors.
At this International Day event, there were 10 country booths representing India, Japan, Korea, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Italy, United Kingdom, China, Netherlands, and France. Each booth was equipped with distinctive ornaments and miniatures as well as interesting information about each country. In addition to wearing clothing from their respective countries, the students also had to explain the culture and customs of these countries to visitors. Moreover, visitors also had the opportunity to taste traditional food from each country and try various games and quizzes at each booth. On the main stage, student representatives from each booth performed entertainment through dance and singing, which added to the festivity of the event.
This celebratory event was able to attract many visitors, not only from students of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, but also from students of various other faculties at Unsoed as well as foreign students studying at Unsoed. This International Day activity is expected to continue to be held every year to enhance multicultural literacy among students and visitors.
