Jakarta, May 17, 2024. Lecturers from the D3 Mandarin Language Study Programme attended a Workshop on Teaching Mandarin as a Foreign Language titled “The Use of AI Technology in Teaching Mandarin in Indonesia”. The purpose of this activity was to introduce artificial intelligence (AI) technology for Mandarin language learning in Indonesia.
Participants in this activity were Mandarin language lecturers from several universities in Indonesia. Dr. Dyah Tjaturrini, M.Si presented materials at the workshop including an introduction to artificial intelligence technology, AI applications for Mandarin language learning, the development of AI teaching materials, and the implementation and integration of AI technology in the classroom.
The Workshop on Teaching Mandarin as a Foreign Language with the theme “The Use of AI Technology in Teaching Mandarin in Indonesia” held at Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Indonesia was able to provide various positive impacts, both for participants, institutions, and the development of Mandarin language learning in Indonesia in general. One of the positive impacts that emerged concerns the improvement of teaching quality. This can occur because the workshop introduces more innovative and interactive teaching methods with the help of AI and ways to integrate them with the learning process.
This workshop activity is expected to further improve the quality of teaching and learning Mandarin in the D3 Bahasa Mandarin study programme, FIB Unsoed.
