The guest lecture featured Yuni Astuti, S.E., M.Par. as the speaker, moderated by Tri Asiati, S.Pd., M.Pd. In her presentation, Yuni Astuti explained that a work ethic is a vital asset that determines the quality and image of the Indonesian tourism industry. The speaker emphasized that a work ethic encompasses discipline, responsibility, teamwork, communication skills, and professionalism in serving tourists from diverse cultural backgrounds. She also highlighted the importance of foreign language mastery, particularly Mandarin, as an added value required by workers in the tourism sector.
Yuni Astuti added that students must possess an excellent worker mindset that is adaptive to modern developments, including digital transformation and sustainable tourism trends. A strong work ethic will produce professionals who are not only competent, but also capable of maintaining a positive image of Indonesian tourism in the eyes of the world. This event served as a valuable opportunity for students to understand the connection between work attitude and career success in the service industry. Through the discussion session, students also gained real insights into the demands of the professional world and the opportunities available for D3 Bahasa Mandarin graduates in the tourism sector.
The Head of the D3 Bahasa Mandarin Study Programme stated that this practitioner lecture is part of the implementation of the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program. This program is designed to provide a more contextual learning experience through collaboration between academia and industry.

With this event, it is hoped that students will become increasingly motivated to develop intercultural communication competencies and build a professional work ethic as preparation for entering the job market in the Indonesian tourism industry.
