Purwokerto, 4 November — Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) Universitas Jenderal Soedirman has once again achieved a proud milestone through the achievements of two of its students in the Pop and Dangdut Vocal Competition held in celebration of the 62nd Dies Natalis Universitas Jenderal Soedirman in 2025. The annual competition, held as a platform for developing student talent and creativity, featured participants from various faculties within Unsoed and took place with great enthusiasm.
In the Men’s Solo Pop Vocal category, a student from the Sastra Inggris Study Programme, Alfedo Suryo Sangandito, successfully won 3rd Place after delivering a stunning performance with strong vocals and mature musical interpretation. His performance received positive appreciation from the board of judges due to his consistent vocal technique, stage presence, and ability to bring character to every line of the song. This achievement not only demonstrates Alfedo’s artistic talent but also showcases the diverse capabilities of Sastra Inggris students, which are not limited to the academic realm alone.
Meanwhile, from the D3 Bahasa Mandarin Study Programme, student Putri Dwi Lestari successfully won 2nd Place in the Women’s Solo Dangdut Vocal category. With an energetic performance, distinctive vocal ornamentation (cengkok), and captivating stage interaction, Putri stood out among the other participants. The judges assessed that her stable vocal strength and ability to perform dangdut songs with an authentic style were the main strengths that led Putri to secure the second position.
The Dean of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Prof. Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, S.S., M.Hum., expressed appreciation for the achievements of the two students. She conveyed that this achievement is proof that FIB students not only excel in academic fields but also possess artistic talents to be proud of. “Their success serves as motivation for other students to continue developing their potential in various fields,” she said.
With these achievements, FIB Unsoed hopes to continue fostering a creative and competitive environment for students so that more talents can contribute to various art and culture events at both the university and regional levels.
