Cilacap, August 27, 2025 – The Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Study Programme, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (FIB Unsoed) continues to demonstrate its commitment to building synergy between academia and schools. Through socialization and cooperation exploratory activities, a team of lecturers from the PBJ FIB Unsoed Study Programme visited SMA Negeri 3 Cilacap and SMK Negeri 1 Cilacap on Wednesday (27/8) to strengthen educational collaboration and support the student teaching assistance program.
Led by Dr. Haryono, S.S., M.Pd., the promotion and cooperation team, consisting of young and energetic lecturers, departed from Purwokerto to Cilacap in the morning. This activity is part of the Study Programme’s grand mission to deliver higher education that is inclusive and relevant to community needs.
The first visit was made to SMA Negeri 3 Cilacap, where the delegation was warmly welcomed by a representative of the school, Ibu Rokhanah, S.Pd. In her speech, she expressed appreciation for Unsoed’s initiative, “We welcome this cooperation because it provides mutual benefits, both for Unsoed students who will undergo practical teaching and for our students who gain new insights.”
Next, the team moved on to SMK Negeri 1 Cilacap. A warm and enthusiastic atmosphere was felt once again when the team was received by Ibu Siti Yuliani, S.Pd., and the Vice Principal for Public Relations. “This collaboration can serve as a window for our students to get to know Japanese language and culture more closely. It opens their horizons toward the world of higher education,” said Siti Yuliani.
During both visits, discussions between the university and the schools took place with great enthusiasm. Various collaboration opportunities were openly discussed, ranging from teaching assistance and learning practice to strengthening the tridarma perguruan tinggi (three pillars of higher education). Dr. Haryono emphasized his hopes, “We want this cooperation not to end here, but to be sustainable and bring a real impact to the world of education.”
In addition to building institutional relations, the lecturer team also stepped directly into the classrooms to greet the students. During the socialization session, the lecturers introduced the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Study Programme and shared inspiration regarding the importance of mastering foreign languages in the global era.
One of the most memorable moments occurred when Ulul Huda, S.Pd.I., M.Ap., delivered motivational remarks to the students. “Do not be afraid to dream big. Japanese is not just a tool for communication, but also a bridge to a broader future,” he said. That enthusiasm was warmly received by students, who did not hesitate to ask questions about career prospects after graduating from this Study Programme.
In response to the students’ questions, Eko Kurniawan, S.Pd., M.Pd., explained, “Our graduates can become teachers, translators, work in Japanese companies, or pursue careers in research. The opportunities are broad and promising.”
To conclude the activity, students were presented with a demonstration of innovative Japanese language learning media created by Yudi Suryadi, S.Pd., M.Pd. This demo showed how technology can combine with creativity to create an enjoyable and effective learning experience.
Through this activity, the Pendidikan Bahasa Jepang Study Programme FIB Unsoed and the schools hope to build a close, mutually supportive, and shared-progress-oriented partnership. This collaboration is expected not only to enrich students’ learning experiences but also to concretely strengthen the implementation of the tridarma perguruan tinggi.
