Purwokerto, March 22, 2024 – Sekar Hayuning Mutyas, a student of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed), has successfully obtained a remarkable opportunity in an international student exchange scholarship program. Sekar, an undergraduate student of Sastra Inggris, has been selected as one of the recipients of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) for 2024.
IISMA is a scholarship program that provides opportunities for Indonesian students to pursue their studies for one semester abroad. Sekar will represent Unsoed at University of Pécs, Hungary, as part of her academic experience.
Dean of FIB Unsoed, Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, S.S., M.Hum., expressed her pride in the achievement attained by Sekar. “We are very proud of Sekar’s accomplishment in winning this scholarship. This is not only a source of pride for Sekar personally, but also for FIB and Unsoed as a whole. Hopefully this learning experience abroad will be valuable capital in developing oneself and making contributions in the future,” said Dr. Ely.
Meanwhile, Korpodi of S1 Sastra Inggris, Dyah Rayna Purwaningsih, S.S., M.Hum., expressed her joy over Sekar’s selection as an IISMA scholarship recipient. “Sekar is a student who possesses high dedication in her studies and personal development. We are confident that she will be able to make maximum benefit from this opportunity to broaden her horizons and enhance her competence in the field of English literature,” said Dyah Rayna.
Sekar herself expressed her gratitude and enthusiasm in facing this new challenge. “I feel very grateful for this opportunity and am ready to embark on a new journey in education. I hope to do my best in representing Unsoed at University of Pécs and also be able to bring back valuable experiences for my personal and academic advancement,” said Sekar.
The opportunity to study abroad is not only a source of personal pride for Sekar, but also serves as inspiration for other Unsoed students to continue excelling and follow in the footsteps of success as demonstrated by Sekar Hayuning Mutyas.
